Bungee jumping fans, in turn, might be interested in a rite of passage that takes place in Vanuatu. For instance, in some parts of China, 15-year-old girls attend an official ceremony wearing a traditional dress. From that moment on, they are allowed to adopt some of the local practices, such as wearing their hair in a bun or using hair pins. (4) _____ Once it is completed, the girl is welcomed into the family as an adult. She is now eligible to marry, so matchmakers start looking for a prospective husband. There are currently around 1.8 billion young people in the world, which means that one fourth of the world’s population will mark the passage from childhood to adulthood this year.
