Man Vs Horse Marathon is held annually, in Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales. It started with a talk in a pub. One man claimed that on long distances horses aren't really faster than humans. A local businessman heard this and decided to test the idea. In the race horses with riders and runners follow the same route. It matters not only who exactly is the fastest but also what type of contestant it is.

Another strange race originated in Finland. In wife-carrying there are couples competing. Each man carries a woman and has to run through several obstacles, one being a metre-deep water pool. The woman cannot fall down and the fastest couple reaching the finish are winners.

To play bassaball you need a special inflatable court with a net. There's a trampoline on each side for the attacking player. Like in volleyball you score a point if the ball touches the court on the rival team's side. You score three if it touches their trampoline. It's fast energetic and exciting beach game. Also the referees entertain the audience by playing samba.
