Walk down almost any High Street in the UK and you will find at least one charity shop.

In the window you will probably see strange mixture of clothes, books and toys. Most of

these things are second-hand, and were donated by the public. The shop assistants are

volunteers. They sell the things and the money goes to various charities. Probably the

best known charity shops are run by Oxfam. There are also many others. Many people

love browsing in charity shops. If you're lucky you can find some excellent bargains. For
