In reported speech there are some changes we need to make. We need to change personal and possessive pronouns or adjectives so that they match the meaning of the sentence. 

When we report a past statement and the reporting verb is in a past form, there is a back shift in tenses used in the statement. It means that present tenses change into past tenses and past tenses change into past perfect tenses. It also affects some modal verbs (will changes into would, and can changes into could). 

There is no back shift in sentence 1, because the reporting verb is in a present simple form.

(W mowie zależnej musimy dokonać pewnych zmian. Musimy zmienić zaimki osobowe i dzierżawcze oraz przymiotniki dzierżawcze tak, żeby odpowiadały znaczeniu zdania.
