A: Last July, my family and I went on holiday to the seaside. We were all excited, but the journey there was awful. First, the train we took was delayed for two hours. When it finally arrived, it was overcrowded and there was nowhere to sit. We had to stand for almost the entire trip, which was exhausting. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was broken, and it was unbelievably hot inside. By the time we reached the seaside, I felt sweaty and annoyed. But after some ice cream and swimming in the sea, I felt much better.

(W lipcu ubiegłego roku razem z rodziną pojechaliśmy na wakacje nad morze. Wszyscy byliśmy podekscytowani, ale podróż była okropna. Po pierwsze, pociąg, którym jechaliśmy, był opóźniony o dwie godziny. Kiedy w końcu przyjechał, był przepełniony i nie było gdzie usiąść. Prawie całą podróż musieliśmy stać, co było wyczerpujące. Co gorsza, zepsuła się klimatyzacja i w środku było niewiarygodnie gorąco. Kiedy dotarliśmy nad morze, byłem/am spocony/a i zirytowany./a Ale po zjedzeniu lodów i kąpieli w morzu poczułem/am się znacznie lepiej.)

B: That sounds rough! I had a bad experience on my way to school last winter. It was a snowy January morning. I usually take a bus, but it was cancelled because of the weather. So, I decided to walk, even though it was snowing heavily. About halfway there, I slipped on some ice and fell. I got my clothes all wet and ended up with a bruised knee. I was so frustrated and cold, but I eventually got to school. By lunchtime, I was dry again and my knee hurt a little bit less, so I felt a bit better by the end.

(Brzmi nieciekawie! Ja miałam kiepskie doświadczenie zeszłej zimy w drodze do szkoły. Był śnieżny styczniowy poranek. Zwykle jeżdżę autobusem, ale został odwołany ze względu na pogodę. Postanowiłem/am więc pójść pieszo, mimo że mocno padał śnieg. Mniej więcej w połowie drogi poślizgnąłem/poślizgnęłam się na lodzie i upadłem/am. Zamoczyłem/am całe ubranie i skończyłem/am z posiniaczonym kolanem. Byłem/am bardzo sfrustrowany/a i zmarznięty/a, ale w końcu dotarłem/am do szkoły. Do południa znów byłem suchy/a, a kolano bolało trochę mniej, więc w końcu poczułem się trochę lepiej.)

C: Oh, dear! My worst trip was last autumn when we were driving to my cousin's wedding in the countryside. Just half an hour into the journey, our car broke down. We had to wait for over an hour for a mechanic to arrive, and it was raining the whole time. We got soaked while trying to figure out what to do. I felt really stressed and anxious about missing the wedding. Luckily, the mechanic managed to fix the car, and we continued on our way. We arrived just in time for the ceremony, feeling relieved but exhausted.

(Ojej! Moja najgorsza podróż miała miejsce ostatniej jesieni, gdy jechaliśmy na wieś na wesele mojego kuzyna / mojej kuzynki. Zaledwie pół godziny po rozpoczęciu podróży zepsuł nam się samochód. Musieliśmy czekać ponad godzinę na przyjazd mechanika, a cały czas padał deszcz. Całkiem przemokliśmy, próbując wymyślić, co robić. Poczułem/am się naprawdę zestresowany/a i zaniepokojony/a tym, że mogę przegapić ślub. Na szczęście mechanikowi udało się naprawić samochód i ruszyliśmy dalej. Przybyliśmy w samą porę na ceremonię, czując ulgę, ale i wyczerpanie.)
