Przysłówki, które mają końcówkę -ly, stopniujemy tak samo jak długie przymiotniki, czyli dodając more w stopniu wyższym i the most w stopniu najwyższym, np. beautifully - more beautifully - the most beautifully. Wyjątkiem jest przysłówek early (też dodajemy do niego -er/the ... -est).

Przysłówki, które mają tę samą formę co przymiotniki regularne, stopniujemy dodając końcówkę -er w stopniu wyższym i the ... -est w stopniu najwyższym, np. fast - faster - the fastest.
