Zdania okolicznikowe kontrastu są używane, aby wyrazić kontrast. Wprowadzamy je za pomocą następujących zwrotów:

"but", "although/even though/though + reszta zdania", "in spite of/despite + noun/-ing", "in spite of/despite + the fact that + reszta zdania", "however/nevertheless", "while/whereas", "yet/still" oraz "on the other hand".
