We form comparative adjectives by:
- adding -er to the one-syllable adjectives
- adding -ier to adjectives ending with -y and deleting it
- adding "more" before two or more syllable adjectives
We form superlative adjectives by:
- adding -est to the one-syllable adjectives
- adding -iet to adjectives ending with -y and deleting it
- adding "most" before two or more syllable adjectives
In the superlative form all the adjectives have "the" before them.
There are also irregular adjectives that must be learned by heart.
