Uwaga!

Przy zamianie z mowy niezależnej (direct speech) na mowę zależną (reported speech), czasownik w czasie teraźniejszym zamienia się w czasownik w czasie przeszłym, a czasownik w czasie przeszłym w 3 formę czasownika - imiesłów bierny.

Przesuwamy czas o jeden do tyłu za wyjątkiem czasu Past Perfect:

Present Simple - Past Simple

Present Perfect - Past Perfect

Past Simple - Past Perfect

Past Perfect - Past Perfect

will - would

"be going to" - "was/were going to"

W przypadku zamiany pytań z mowy niezależnej na zależną, należy pamiętać o tym, że takie pytania przyjmują szyk zdań twierdzących.

 

Uwaga! Określenia czasu zmieniają się w mowie zależnej (reported speech) następująco

yesterday - the day before/the previous day

this - that

 

1. She said she went swimming every week.

2. Jake said they were studying volcanoes that term.

3. Rosa and Keira said they had gone to the cinema the previous day/day before.

4. The boy said he had seen a bank robbery.

5. The newspapers said the thief had visited the scene several times before the robbery.

6. My sister said she was going to buy a new pair of jeans.

7. The police said they would catch the criminals.

8. He asked me if I liked action movies.

9. I asked her what her favourite colour was.
